We cordially invite you to participate in the 52nd Annual Symposium of the Vacuum Society of Japan (ASVSJ-52), which will be held in Tokyo during November 16-18, 2011. The conference includes a special symposium with invited speakers, and an exhibittion of the latest equipment at the conference site. Electrical submission only. You can reach the submission form from Registration Page in this website.
Registration Deadline： 24 July 2011 24:00 JST.

The abstract of the paper should be sent in an electrical form (PDF format) only. It should be written within a single A4 page, and be sent via e-mail. Arrived manuscripts are compiled into a book form and are distributed to the conference attendances.
Abstract Deadline： 20 September 2011 24:00 JST
The manuscripts must be submitted in PDF format as an attachment according to the instruction in Abstract Menu.

Acceptance notice

The authors will be notified his/her Program Number by the end of August via e-mail. Poster presentation details will also be sent at this time to the corresponding author.

Fee

Student member of VSJ: 2,000JPY
Regular and Cooporate member of VSJ or assisting societies: 4,000JPY
Others: 5,000JPY
Booklet of Abstract: 2,500JPY

To attend the Symposium, a students has to be registered as a VSJ member before end of Sep, 2009; otherwise the fee for regular member will be applied for the attendance to Symposium. Without subscription of monthly Journal, annual charge for Student member (3,500 JPY par year) can be reduced to 2,000 JPY.

Exhibition/Presentation by Manufacturers

During the meeting, a session of Exhibition/Presentation by Manufacturers will be held at the adjacent hall. Companies relating the vacuum science and technologies are strongly encouraged to attend the session (Refer to invitation for detail).

Informal meeting

Informal meeting will be held on 17 November 2011. Details will be appeared on the website.

Guide for authors of Abstracts

1．Abstract

Authors of ASVSJ-50 are requested to submit an abstract in the PDF format, which will be compiled and distributed to conference attendees. Please read this instruction carefully and prepare your abstract.You can also refer to the abstract sample（Jpanese PDF, Japanese MSWord, English PDF or English MSword） Please note that only electrical submission in the PDF format is accepted.

2．Manuscript format

Typeset the manuscript according to the instruction following．

【Size】: A4 (portrait), 1 page
【Margins】: Please set margins: head 22 mm, foot 25 mm, left/right 20 mm.
【Title】: Put the title at the first line, centering, with 14~16 pt font. Leave a space at least 30 mm width at the left of the title, where the program number will be inserted by the symposium committee.
【Authors and Affiliations】: 　List under the title, centering, with 11 pt font. Put a "°" mark before the name of the presenting author.
【Body】: Number of the lines in a page should be 40~45. Both single and double column formats are acceptable. In the case of double column format, put a space of 8 mm between the columns.

3．Figures, Tables and Photos

Figures, tables and photos must be arranged within the page. Note: images provided in color will go poor in the abstract book, because the book will be printed in black and white. The author is responsible for the quality.

4．Manuscript submission

The manuscripts must be submitted in PDF format as an attachment at the following e-mail address. The file name should be "123.pdf" where `123' has to be replaced by your Program Number .

Guide for Presenters

Every contributed oral presentation will last 15 minutes including discussion.

Please bring your own laptop PC and connect it to the LCD projector during a coffee break prior to the session in which your presentation is assigned. The connector is a mini D-sub 15 pin. Please bring a converter if your laptop PC does not correspond to it. You are asked to bring a backup file in a USB memory for safety.

Poster Presentation

If you want to make your presentation in poster sesseion, check
`poster session' in the registration form. Good presentations of young VSJ members will be nominated to Award.

Guide for authors of Proceedings

The symposium proceedings will be published as "Journal of the Vacuum Society of Japan" .

Contributed papers are published as Letters. A Letter should be limited to 2,500 words including an abstract in English (3 printed pages).
Invited papers are published as Letters or Reviews. A Review should be limited to 6,400 words including an abstract in English (8 printed pages).
Authors are expected to read the ''Information for the Contributors'' and follow "Instructions for the Preparation of Manuscripts" available at the web site at http://www.vacuum-jp.org/EDT/edthome.html.
Manuscripts should be prepared using a prescribed template in a MS-Word format (or English Edition). Authors are recommended also to access the web site of the Vacuum Society of Japan (VSJ).
Please submit your manuscript at the new submission site JSTAGE3.
The dead line is 11 November 2011, 24:00 (JST).
The program numbers should be given on submission.
Submitted manuscripts are sent to a referee. The editorial board decides acceptance in the light of the opinion of the referee. The authors are required to nominate some referees on submission.
